Bringing Advice, Support and Connection to Rural Communities
MAC (Mobile Advice Centre) is our mobile outreach service taking practical support directly to rural communities across Leicestershire and Rutland where it is needed most.
One mobile advice van is currently operating across the area, working alongside a second team delivering targeted outreach in community buildings until our second larger advice van comes into service later this year.
We help people by providing information, advice, equipment, one-to-one support, and referrals across a wide range of issues affecting rural households.
Supporting Safe, Affordable and Efficient Homes
MAC supports households to stay safe, reduce energy costs, and move towards more affordable warmth.
We do this by:
- Raising awareness of carbon monoxide safety, including risks, signs, and protection through alarms
- Supporting people to join the Priority Services Register for extra energy supplier support
- Providing practical advice to reduce energy use and lower bills
- Promoting simple ways to achieve affordable warmth at home
- Supplying resources such as carbon monoxide alarms and energy-saving items
What We Offer
Through our mobile vans and outreach work, we provide:
- Information – clear guidance and resources in person, online, and in the community
- Advice – tailored support to help people make informed decisions
- Equipment – practical items to support safety and energy efficiency
- Keywork support – one-to-one help for those who need extra guidance
- Referrals – connections to specialist services and wider support networks
