Village Halls Advisory Service
Support for Village Halls has been has been at the heart of the RCC’s work since in was established in 1924. We are pleased to advise village and church halls in rural areas of Leicestershire and Rutland on all aspects of hall management.
The RCC is agent for Leicestershire County Council’s Village Halls Grant Scheme. This is a grant scheme for village halls in Leicestershire only, which is designed to help halls with the cost of major repairs, alterations and extensions. All village halls in Leicestershire which are registered charities, and also church halls performing the traditional role of a village hall in those villages where there is no village hall, are eligible to apply.

Training and seminars on current topics are provided to keep village hall management committees up to date on new legislation and sources of funding.

Village Halls' Membership Service
Village and Church halls are encouraged to become members of the RCC’s Village Halls' Membership Service which provides a number of benefits for an annual fee of £35 these include:
- Advice from the RCC Village Halls Adviser on all aspects of hall management.
- Advice from ACRE Village Halls Service through the RCC, which will include free legal advice for an initial enquiry and at a reduced rate for detailed matters.
- Funding advice on sources of grant aid from dedicated funding officer.
- Processing of applications for grants to Leicestershire County Council from halls in Leicestershire. This will include a visit to the hall by the RCC Village Halls adviser to offer advice in the application process.
- Processing of applications for a Village Hall loan to ACRE.
- 4 copies per annum of the RCC magazine ‘Village Voice’.
- 2 copies per annum of Village Halls Newsletter.
- Invitations to Village Hall Seminars and training events.
- Purchase of Village Hall publications at reduced rates.
- Up to 7 free copies of Village Hall information sheets. (unlimited number if we can email them to you)
- Free membership of RCC
