The RCC believes in the principle of helping rural communities to develop themselves to the preference of each village. Community Consultation plays an important part in achieving this aspiration by ensuring that people are involved in discussions on matters that could affect their way of life.
The RCC organises competitions to encourage villages to undertake new projects and to maximise the use of existing services and facilities.

The RCC encourages and supports the setting up of new Social Enterprises.
For any community project trying to get off the ground, it is inevitable that funding will be required. The RCC offers a funding information service and can tailor advice to suit the needs of your project. A funding information pack is produced annually and this lists local, regional and national funding organisations. Also, if you need information about funding organisations or need tips on how to write a successful application then please contact the RCC. We are here to help.

We offer a variety of interesting walks and tours so why no take a look at what is on offer at the moment. The RCC also produces a guided walks leaflet that includes the whole programme of walks for the year.

A community project serving Rutland, providing support and advice to vulnerable people through volunteers and partnership work.
- Rural Centres Project
The project is currently working in Thurmaston, Broughton Astley and Earl Shilton.

The RCC offers an advisory service for village halls and also church halls in rural Leicestershire. The RCC also administers the Leicestershire County Council Village Hall Grant Scheme. Details of how to join the Village Halls Membership Scheme are also available.
