Ryhall and Belmesthorpe

Following a public meeting in May 2008, residents of Ryhall & Belmesthorpe decided to update the Parish Appraisal that was completed in the millennium year. The main focus of consultation took place at the Annual Gala day in August 08 which had a particular emphasis on ‘Planning for Real ®’. For those residents who were not able to attend the Gala Day the Planning for Real ® map was on display in the library from 1st – 7th September 08.

The group have now completed and published the final Parish Plan report and action plan and are now moving on to oversee the implementation of specific actions and to tackle key issues identified within the parish.

The Parish Plan was officially launched on 26th Feb 2009 in Ryhall Village Hall. The event was attended by over 100 residents and included information stands from many local clubs and organisations along with the Police. The Parish Plan report and action plan were available to view throughout the event with free copies offered to those who attended. In addition to this residents were given another opportunity to view the 3D Planning for Real© map.

Happily, enough support was generated to form a steering group and great progress has been made. The group has devised and distributed an adult, youth and 7-10 year olds questionnaire throughout the village and have carried out further consultation in the form of focus groups, a logo competition and a ‘Planning for Real ®’ exercise carried out in conjunction with the local primary school.
