Great Casterton

Great Casterton

Great Casterton gets its name from a significant Roman settlement on the banks of the River Gwash. For many years, much of the village was owned by the Burghley Estate and today the Estate continues to be an important influence on the village. Completed in April 2005, the Parish Plan represents over two years of hard work on the part of the village Steering Group. A 64% response rate was received from the 169 households surveyed (population approx 470).
