Rural Services Review 2007-08
The challenges facing rural communities continue to increase. They include, for some, poor access to services including health and social care as well as retail services; for others poor access to flexible public transport and social isolation. The increasing price of oil affecting fuel both for transport purposes and some heating schemes, and an ageing population put additional strains on services in the countryside.
