Clawson, Hose & Harby

Both Long Clawson and Harby have recently completed separate Village Plans and are now in the process of amalgamating the two documents to form one plan for the Parish (incorporating Hose).
Already there has been a combined effort from the two communities when they came together earlier this year to tackle litter within the locality.
Although many of the recommendations made have already come to fruition, others will take much longer to implement. One recommendation that is currently being implemented with assistance from the local youth worker, is the development of a youth council. The implementation team will be led by the Parish Council but will be accountable to a small steering group made up of local residents from the three respective villages.

Stathern

Located in the heart of the Vale of Belvoir, Stathern have now completed their community consultation exercise. They were one of the three settlements that participated in the joint ‘Service co-ordination event' in September 2007.
A draft action plan has been produced which will form the nucleus of the Parish Plan which is hoped will be officially launched later this year.

What is a Service Co-ordination Event?

A service co-ordination event is a County Council led initiative held in the community where represenatives of the local community engage with service providers to discuss local issues and concerns with the goal of achieving workable solutions. The service providers are a group of 19 diverse organisations that make up the Leicestershire Rural Partnership ranging from the County and District Councils, Leicestershire Constabulary and Natural England. Eastwell

Part of the wider parish of Eaton, Eastwell and Goadby Marwood, Eastwell received an impressive 75% response rate to their questionnaire. They have drafted a final report and action plan and combined forces with Long Clawson and Stathern in holding a joint 'Service co-ordination event' on 20th September 2007.
One of the key priorities for Eastwell is tackling issues related to highways and byways.
It is envisaged that Eastwell will officially launch their plan later this year.

Great Dalby

Located south of Melton Mowbray, Great Dalby have designed a questionnaire for both adults and youths in their village. It is anticipated that the questionnaire will be distributed amongst Great Dalby residents.
However, for this to happen, the existing group is seeking to recruit new volunteers to help carry this forward.

Kirby Bellars

Kirby Bellars is situated just off of the main A607. Receiving an approximate return rate of 50%, this healthy response rate has been analysed by steering group members which has been formed into an action plan. In order to keep villagers involved with the process as much as possible, an open meeting was held in early September ’07 highlighting the ‘Top 10’ concerns for local residents.
The group is progressing with the final wording of the report and action plan which they hope to launch this autumn.
