Stathern

Stathern Parish Plan Launch

Located in the heart of the Vale of Belvoir, Stathern have now completed and published their Parish Plan which was launched in the Stathern War Memorial Institute on 19th November 2008.

The community have already seen a number of outcomes from the plan including new Litter Bins, and a proposed project to improve road safety outside the Village Stores. Looking to the future the Parish are hoping to refurbish their Community Building and carry out a further consultation of the young people within the community.

They are always looking for new volunteers to help with future projects so if you are interested please contact Community Development Officer, Kate Sharpe on 0116 2689710 or






Waltham on the Wolds and Thorpe Arnold

Waltham on the Wolds completed a very successful village appraisal in 2003 which has lead to a number of positive outcomes. Information on the actions completed up until 2009 can be found by following the link below:

The Parish Council have undertaken a thorough review and update of the 2003 Appraisal for 20010 - 2014 which is due for publication in the spring of 2011 and will appear on this website in due course.

The community have been widely consulted over a number of events and the main set of proposals was printed in the WOTWATA magazine and comments were invited. 25% of the population of the 2 villages sent in suggestions and responses which have been incorporated into the plan. In addition the Parish Council supported a Planning for Real project that wwas undertaken by Waltham on the Wolds Primary School in October 2010.

On Thursday 28th October 44 children between the ages of seven and ten from Waltham on the Wolds Church of England Primary School took part in a Planning for Real exercise, assisted by Kate Sharpe, CDO for Melton at the RCC.
