Barwell Parish Plan

Residents from Barwell formed a parish plan group in June 2008, although the group is quite small, they have worked hard to produce a questionnaire which was distributed to every household within the parish for adults to complete. The responses from this questionnaire have now been collated and the group are beginning to draft a report from the results. The group meet around once a month and always welcome new members along. Please get in touch if you would like to be involved.

Markfield Parish Plan

We Love Markfield Community Open Day

In February this year, a community open day was held in the village of Markfield, Leicestershire. This event invited the residents of Markfield to talk, liaise and be advised by many different service providers and organisations who work or have an interest in the area.

The aim of the event was firstly to gain thier views about the parish and how they would like to see it change over the next 5 to 10 years and to secondly increase the social capital and community spirit of the area. The RCC worked very closely with Hinckley and Bosworth LSP and the Markfield Community Association to make this event a success.

The information collected on this day has been formulated into an action plan and report by the RCC. This report is currently sitting with the Parish Council and Community Association for comment.

Newbold Verdon Parish Plan

Newbold Verdon had their first public meeting on the 9th September 2008. From here they went on to form a committee and they have had a very good turn out at meetings ever since! The group put a lot of thought into designing a questionnaire which was distributed around the village and was available for online completion. The group are very enthusiastic about their parish plan and have even put on events for the community before the completion of the plan! They have now begun to write their parish plan report so it should be available in the New Year!

Cadeby Parish Plan

The residents of Cadeby decided in September of last year to start the parish plan process after an open meeting held in the church hall. As Cadeby is quite a small parish, they have been able to conduct a door-to-door survey. The results of this are currently being analysed and this will create an action plan for the area.

Stoke Golding Park Committee

Stoke Golding Park Committee are a group of local residents who are trying to redesign their local recreation ground. The group held a consultation event in March this year to ask local residents what they thought about the recreation area and what they wanted to see on the site. The Park Committee have presented their findings to the Parish Council who are currently discussing ideas. The park Committee have already managed to secure a grant to go towards a new basketball hoop.
