East Midlands Area Network (EMAN)
EMAN is the network of Rural Community Councils in the East Midlands. It works with partner organisations across the region to achieve an improved quality of life for all members of rural communities.
In each county in the East Midlands , there is a Rural Community Council (RCC) actively involved in promoting local initiatives to improve the quality of life in rural communities. The activities of individual RCCs vary but community development and involvement is at the core of their approach.
Each RCC is committed to providing information and support to the rural voluntary and community sector in their area.
At every level, Rural Community Councils use their experience and expertise to actively engage in the policy debate. This works aims to ensure that rural issues remain high on the agenda of the government and other key decision and policy makers.
Collectively EMAN members provide services to around 1380 parishes and a rural population in excess of 2 million people.
