Download & Run Browsealoud 5

Browsealoud is a small program that can be easily downloaded from the Browsealoud website, www.browsealoud.com or other Browsealoud supported website. You will need to uninstall any earlier versions before running Browsealoud version 5.

Follow these step-by-step instructions to download and run Browsealoud.

1. Click on the Browsealoud icon on the right. You will be taken to the Browsealoud website.

2. Click on the appropriate icon (PC download or Mac download).

3. A page will appear with full information about the download. Go to the bottom of the page where you will find an option to state whether your computer is behind a corporate (business) firewall. Then click on the download icon.

4. When the File Download panel appears click on Save.

5. When the Save As panel appears choose to save the file somewhere
locally on your machine.

6. After the file is downloaded close the Download dialogue.

7. Go to where you have saved Browsealoud and double click on the
Browsealoud.exe.

8. The Open File- Security Warning (Figure 2) may appear, please uncheck “Always ask before opening this file” to prevent this message from appearing in the future and then click Run.

9. Read the license agreement and then choose the I Agree option to continue. Click Next.

10. The next panel will have some accessibility information about
Browsealoud. After reading this click Next.

11. You will then be presented with the final dialogue screen explaining the Browsealoud icons as shown:

12. Click on the Finish button to complete the setup.
13. A pop-up window indicates that Browsealoud is checking for updates.
Once this is complete Browsealoud is ready to be used.

Please Note:
Some security settings on council networks will not allow Browsealoud 5 to update properly, please run this updating program to get the latest enabled sites. Copy and paste the URL below into your browser address bar. Then hit the Return key. Select RUN on the window which pops up.

For Network Administrator:
This ftp file can be run as a non-Administrator function and will copy 4 ini files to the Document and Settings folder.
