Community Bus Partnerships
Local partnerships working together to increase the use and viability of rural bus services
Working with Leicestershire County Council and a number of bus providers, we are supporting four Community Bus Partnerships made up of bus users and other members of each community.
Our role is to help local volunteers to plan and undertake consultation and marking activity to inform the community about the bus service, identify changes that would encourage more use, and support action to improve and promote the service.
More about the Community Bus Partnerships...
Many rural bus routes are subsidised by the Local Authority to enable them to continue to transport people from rural areas into local towns and to other villages. The aim of a Community Bus Partnership is to increase use of the bus to lower the subsidy required and make the service more financially sustainable.
The Leicestershire based bus routes covered by the four partnerships we are currently supporting are:
No. 7 - Measham to Fenny Drayton
No. 55/56 - Melton to Grantham
No. 113 - Melton to Oakham
No. 129 - Ashby de la Zouch to Loughborough
