Desford Village Hall, once a Methodist Chapel, a Christian Reading Room and then the local Miners Institute, is now a well presented and maintained hall, with good facilities offered for hire for a wide variety of events. These range from childrens' parties to family celebrations, from aerobics to auctions and from craft classes to full craft fairs. It has banquetting facilities for up to 80, comfortable seating for up to 100 with a large or small kitchen. There is good disabled access and toilets facilities and hiring rates are very reasonable.
