Billesdon

Billesdon Parish Plan - 2006

The Billesdon Parish Plan steering committee was officially formed in September 2005. The group began the process by consulting with local organisations and businesses in order to identify the key issues and topics deemed most beneficial to explore in the plan. Using the information gained the group formulated and distributed an Adult and Youth Questionnaire throughout the Parish which received a response rate of about 57%. The Billesdon Parish Plan and Action Plan was successfully completed and launched in September 2006.

Key Project Outcomes to Date...

This project has helped to produce a wealth of positive outcomes within the community including;

Sustainable Billesdon Group

Led by a group of local volunteers the 'Sustainable Billesdon Group' aim to raise local awareness about the environment, energy efficency and sustainable living. The group have already carried out a number of successful projects and events including; A Car Free Day, A Slow Food Day, A Plastic Bag Free Project and the disribution of Energy Saving Lightbulbs. The Billesdon Good Neighbour Scheme

Claybrooke Magna and Claybrooke Parva

The Claybrookes Parish Plan - 2008

Claybrooke Magna & Parva

The parishes of Claybrooke Magna and Parva launched their joint Parish Plan on 21st June 2008. A successful launch event was held in conjunction with the village fete and included presentations from the RCC and Councillor Rosita Page.

Key Project Outcomes to Date...

The Parish Plan has contributed to the increased use of the Village Hall and the provision of a revitalised Play Area. Funding is being sourced for the planned restoration/refurbishment of the Village Hall windows. Volunteers have been working to rebuild and restore the village website. A Heritage and History Watch group has established with over 20 members & has a full programme of monthly events set for 2009.

Cotesbach

Cotesbach

Cotesbach Parish Plan - 2006

The Cotesbach Parish Plan was successfully completed and launched in 2006 (copy available to download below).

With most of the action plan now implemented the Parish Council are considering reviewing and updating the existing Parish Plan. A successful open meeting was held prior to their November Parish Council meeting in order to highlight and discuss key local issues and gauge support for another village consultation.

Dunton Bassett

Dunton Bassett Parish Plan - 2009

A large and vibrant steering group formed following an open meeting in October 2007. The group circulated Adult and Youth Questionnaires in May 2008 which received a response rate of approximately 60%, as well as identifying over 100 new volunteers. The Dunton Bassett Parish Plan was completed & published in January 2009 which was marked by a successful Launch Event held in the Village Hall. The steering group have now split into 8 focus groups to oversee the implementation of the Action Plan.

Key Project Outcomes to Date...

A Neighbourhood Watch scheme has been successfully reintroduced into the Village with 2 scheme co-ordinators now in place.
6 volunteers have worked with Leicestershire County Council to train for and complete a successfull 'Community Speedwatch' Scheme within the Parish.
Local volunteers have worked closely with the local Police to successfully reduce illegal and unsafe parking.
A group of local residents have created and distributed a village directory and welcome pack outlining all the clubs, organisations and services available in the village. The group are also looking to establish new clubs and organise additional community events within the parish.
