Colonel Sir Andrew Martin Memorial Cricket Competition 2011

The final of the Colonel Sir Andrew Martin Memorial Village Cricket Competition will be played this year at the Cropston Cricket Field on Sunday 14th August 2011.
This year’s final is between Cropston and Barkby United Cricket Clubs. The match will be starting at 2pm and the RCC Leicestershire & Rutland Competitions Committee would welcome support from all able to attend.
The presentation will be held at the end of the match and Col Robert Martin, Vice President of the RCC, will present the prizes accompanied by Lorraine Lee, Franchisee of McDonalds Hinckley.
Special thanks to McDonalds Restaurant, Hinckley for kindly agreeing to sponsor the event again this year.
Spectators welcome

Teams taking part this year together with last years champions Earl Shilton and runners up Barkby United are Cropston, Countesthorpe, Cosby, Enderby, Dunton Bassett, Huncote, Kirby Muxloe, Narborough, Newtown Linford, Rothley Park, Whetstone and Woodhouse Eaves.

The timetable of matches has been notified to the competitors and the first round will be played before the 10th of June.

Col Sir Andrew Martin Cricket Competition 2010


The 2010 Col Sir Andrew Martin Cricket Competition sponsored by Mc Donalds Hinckley commenced in May and was concluded on the 12th September with the Cup Final being held on a 'neutral ground' at Countesthorpe. The final was between Barkby United who were appearing in the competition for the first time and Earl Shilton who were runners-up in 2005.

The competition received entries from 16 teams:-
Anstey & Glenfield, Bardon Hill, Barkby United, Cosby, Countesthorpe,Cropston,Dunton Bassett, Earl Shilton, Enderby, Huncote, Kirby Muxloe, Narborough & Littlethorpe, Newtown Linford, Rothley Park, Sharnford and Woodhouse Eaves.

Sponsorship was again recieved from Lorraine Lee of ‘McDonalds Restaurant of Hinckley’.

Runners Up: Barkby United



Col. Sir Andrew Martin Cricket Competition 2009

Cricket Clubs across Leicestershire were invited to enter the Col Sir Andrew Martin Cricket Competition that was this year sponsored by Lorraine Lee of the Hinckley McDonalds Franchise.
Fifteen clubs entered and the draw was made by Jean Lee RCC trustee and Tony Rogers (volunteer competition organiser). A copy of the draw can be viewed on the attached document.


Cricket Competition Final 2007

The final was held on Sunday, 16th September at Countesthorpe Cricket Club, Bassett Avenue, Countesthorpe The match which was between Countesthorpe and Cosby ended in a win for Countesthorpe with the Man of the Match Trophy going to a Cosby player.
