Narborough and Littlethorpe

Narborough and Littlethorpe have now FINISHED their Parish Plan! Please come along to their launch event on Saturday 21st November. The event is on from 10.30am - 2.30pm and will take place in the Parish Centre and the All Saints Church Hall. There will be lots of local groups and clubs involved so if you want to find out more about village life this is your chance! Free copies of the parish plan will be available to all those who attend so come along and get yours!

Kirby Muxloe

Kirby Muxloe Parish Plan Group have been extremely busy in recent months! The questionnaire which the group used to consult with residents was first advertised at a community fayre which the group held at the village hall on the morning of Saturday 18th April 2009. The questionnaire was delivered to every household in the parish and was also available for completion online. The group then continued to advertise the questionnaire with posters around the village and later a leaflet was delivered to every house encouraging residents to have their say.

The Parish Plan Group will now consider all responses from this questionnaire and once analysed the group of volunteers will turn these responses into a report that will be sent to service providers in the area and will provide ideas for the village in the future.

The group have not left out the children and youth of Kirby Muxloe though! Firstly the local primary school children were asked for their ideas about the area - the children helped to make a huge scale map of the village and then their thoughts and ideas were added to this.

The youth that live in Kirby Muxloe and attend either Brookvale High School or Groby College have also been asked questions about what they would like to be improved in the village. The RCC helped the parish plan group with this as they used the 'voting handsets' at both the schools in September - watch this space for more info!

Glenfield Parish Plan

The inaugural meeting of the Glenfield Parish Plan Group was held at Park House on Monday 9 June 2008. Since this time, the small group of local volunteers, supported by the Rural Community Council, are working alongside the Parish Council to compile a plan for the future development of Glenfield. At present the group have been working on their questionnaire, this will be delivered to every household in Glenfield to give all residents the chance to be involved.

Thurlaston

The results from the questionnaire have now been analysed and a draft action plan produced. The steering group chose to focus on traffic, transport and young people. It is likely a report will be produced and an open event organised to give people the opportunity to see what needs addressing and how.
