Rural Action Seminar March 12th 2009 (presentations)

The event included information on Recycling Credits, Energy saving and reducing CO2, as well as showcasing projects that have been carried out by volunteers in the community and received funding. Details of the Grassroots Grant Scheme and Vibrant Villages Grants were given and the evening rounded off with presentations given by volunteers who are undertaking projects in their villages that provided the inspirational aspect of the event.

Lesley Pendleton Chairman of the Leicestershire Rural Partnership welcomed everyone to the event which was held at County Hall Glenfield and attended by over 90 people. In her welocming address she congratulated volunteers in the community for their dedication and the hard work of the Rural Community Council Officers in supporting them. She also outlined the committment of the partners who seek opportunities for solutions – either through service providers or new community-led initiatives.
