Achievement Awards 2012

2012 is a special year with the Queens Diamond Jubilee in June together with our country hosting the Olympics in July, so what better year could you have to demonstrate what you are proud of in your community.

The RCC(Leicestershire and Rutland)Achievement Awards competition is open to all communities under 12,000 for this years entries

This is an opportunity for you to show off the best of your community, to win recognition and reward the hard work.

We are aware that this year you also have the opportunity to enter the Lord Lieutenant’s Diamond Jubilee Awards. However, submitting your project to one, does not preclude you from submitting the same project to the other!

You may enter one, two or all three of the RCC categories: Community, Cleaner & Greener and Community Halls.

Every project has an equal chance of winning; it doesn’t matter if this is your first time or if you have entered in previous years. Just tell us what you are proud of, what you do for your community and how you look after everyone.

NEW FOR THIS YEAR is a £250 cash prize for the winner of each category

To enter your community and further competition details download the entry form below. (word document is suitable for electronic completion)

Deadline extended to May 11th 2012

Col Sir Andrew Martin Annual Memorial Cricket Competition 2012

The Rural Community Council (Leicestershire and Rutland) is launching the Col Sir Andrew Martin Cricket Competition 2012. Applications are sought from village cricket clubs in the Leicestershire and Rutland areas.

This competition is aimed at any small friendly cricket clubs from a rural area. These village cricket teams are the teams that contribute to community life and we want to recognise their contribution by giving them the opportunity to compete against other similar teams. If yours is one of these ‘friendly’ teams please submit your entry as soon as possible. We are also looking out for new clubs that have never entered before, to enable greater competition.

If you would like to find out more about the competition please contact Tony Rogers through Diana Cook at the Rural Community Council (Leicestershire and Rutland), 133 Loughborough Road, Leicester LE4 5LQ. dcook@ruralcc.org.uk. 0116 2689706
The closing date for applications is 13 April 2012.
